The high caliber Flohr Family Printmaking Studio is considered one of the best-equipped studios in South Texas, with about 70 litho stones and 2 litho presses, 3 large etching presses, and screenprinting facilities.

Department Chair Margaret Craig is an activist voice in the printmaking world, and is frequently invited to participate in trade portfolios that bring the work of current artist printmakers to the SSA.

In recent years, the department has hosted workshops by printmakers including Emmanuel Montoya of Oakland, CA, and Radcliffe Bailey of Atlanta.
