Since 1996 it has been my privilege to lead the School, a remarkable institution unmatched for the diversity of its programming and audience, for its involvement in the wider community, and for the significance and beauty of its historic buildings and grounds.
The Southwest School of Art is dedicated to facilitating the development of 21st Century skills through art. Our students hone critical thinking and problem solving skills while expanding their ability to think creatively, work collaboratively, and communicate clearly…all within a supportive environment that ensures individualized instruction and mentorship.
Because we value and teach both traditional and innovative skills and ideas and have designed a unique and holistic general curriculum, our students are equipped for a multitude of professional pursuits and are prepared to be engaged citizens.
