The school has long been considered one of the country’s foremost regional centers of arts education. School faculty are qualified to teach at the university level, with most holding terminal fine arts degrees (MFAs or MAs). The school’s extensive studio facilities rival those of most colleges or universities. Unlike universities, however, the school accepts serious students at all skill levels, from beginning to professional, and actively encourages creative exploration of various media.
The school offers a respected Certificate Program designed to offer professional level credentialing for serious artists and craftspersons. To earn a Certificate, students must complete a series of core classes in the visual arts, as well as meet specific departmental class requirements.
The Certificate Program encourages students to expand their creative horizons and develop fundamental skills while earning formal recognition of their accomplishments.
