Using a contemporary matrix of sandblast mask and matt lexan instead of linoleum or wood, students will cut easy to carve sandblast mask using x-acto blades and linoleum cutting tools to create a key image. This matrix is then painted with watercolor which fills in the carved out areas, as well as rolled with oil-based color to ink the relief area; with only one run through the press, the image results in a vibrant multicolored print. The plate can be reused, re-colored, and re-inked to create a variable edition of prints. Includes most materials; see SSA website for a materials list. Please bring a bag lunch.
