Teen Studio Intensive

The High School Teen Studio Intensive program is designed for talented rising 9th through 12th graders with a strong interest in the visual arts. Students who are accepted into the High School program meet twice each week after school for the entire academic school year. During the program, they have the opportunity to develop their art-making skills through intense professional instruction in a serious learning environment.  The focus is on foundations in drawing and painting and each year Teen Studio Intensive participants plan and install at least one group exhibition, in a public space during the year.  Thanks to the support of our generous donors, Teen Studio Intensive is a low-cost program and participants are asked to pay an annual fee towards the cost of materials.  Interested students must complete the application process to be considered for acceptance. Click here for more information and to apply.

A sliding scale fee may be offered if the cost of the program is a barrier to participation.

Middle School Studio Intensive

The Spring 2019 Middle School Studio Intensive Program has been canceled for the remainder of the term. If you have any questions, please contact Patricia Morales, Director of Young Artist Programs at 210.200.8213 or pmorales@swschool.org.

This after-school program is for middle school students, ages 11-14, who have an interest in exploring the visual arts, who enjoy working with like-minded students, and who want to develop their art-making skills through intense professional instruction in a serious learning environment. Students meet one-day a week for 12 sessions. This program focuses on providing foundational skills in drawing and painting. Each year, the course is offered in the fall and spring semesters. Students may enroll in one session per year and participants are selected through an application process. Participants are asked to pay a fee towards supplies for the semester, however this fee may be offered on a sliding scale if it is a barrier to participation.
