Saturday Morning Discovery is a free, introductory art experience designed for children ages 5-17. Sessions take place on Saturday mornings during the school year and provide family fun and learning by awakening a passion for art in children and their parents.
Children have the opportunity to work with artist-teachers in a wide variety of media, including ceramics, drawing and painting, pinhole photography, silk-screening, stained glass, origami, and seasonal activities. Parents and guardians often work alongside their child.
Each month-long session meets from 9:30am – 11:30am on Saturdays. Due to the popularity of this fun and interactive program, advance reservations are required.
SMD registration for the 2019-2020 school year is closed.
September - December 2020 - registration dates TBA

Saturday Morning Discovery FAQ
If a session is full, can I be called if there is a cancellation?
There is no waiting-list for SMD. If a session is full, you are encouraged to sign up for the next available session.
Can I leave my child at SMD?
Parents and guardians must accompany their children throughout the program, which is great because parents are encouraged to get involved in the art-making!
Will I need to sign my child up for specific activities?
Once a child is accepted into SMD, there is no additional sign-up necessary. During the course of the session, children have a chance to participate in a variety of activities and should be able to try everything at least once.
