Thank you Fiesta Arts Fair volunteers!

Fiesta Arts Fair is widely recognized as one of the best Fiesta San Antonio events of the year, and that's due in large part to the more than 450 volunteers who donate their time and talents to making the event so successful.  While the quality and variety of art presented at Fiesta Arts Fair attracts people from all over the greater San Antonio, it's that special Fiesta Arts Fair experience provided by our volunteers that keeps them coming back year after year.

If you are interested in volunteering at Fiesta Arts Fair, we have a variety of opportunities to choose from, including coupon sales, admissions, the young artist garden, and artist relief. All volunteers receive free admission to the Fair for the day of their scheduled shift as well as a discount on Fiesta Arts Fair merchandise. Those who work three (3) or more shifts receive additional benefits.

To all who have ever volunteered at Fiesta Arts Fair, please accept our heartfelt thank you and sincere invitation to join us again!  If you are considering volunteering for the first time, we welcome you and thank you for your consideration!

A volunteer shift lasts three (3) hours. Minimum age requirement is 16, unless prior approval is obtained by Volunteer or Area Coordinator.  Volunteers must be able to focus on assigned duties for entire shift. Children are not permitted to accompany a volunteer during his/her shift.

All volunteers receive FREE admission to the fair as well as a 20% discount on t-shirts and $2 off medals. Volunteers working three (3) or more shifts receive a parking pass and an invite to the exclusive artist party on Saturday night.

Admissions (18+) – If your mental math, communication, and sales transaction skills are strong, this may be a perfect fit. Admissions volunteers will spend most of their shifts talking to the public and processing cash AND credit card transactions. PLEASE NOTE: this position DOES REQUIRE familiarity with processing credit card payments on an iPad.

Advanced Tickets/Wristbands – Check advance ticket holders' passes for fair entry and help fasten wristbands on all patrons.

Gate Handouts – Greet Fiesta Arts Fair patrons as they enter and provide general information concerning the fair. Flexible and friendly!

Coupon Sales (18+) – Help sell coupons that are used for food, drinks, and kids’ activities. NOTE: Must be comfortable dealing with money exchange.

Drink Booths – Work the Fiesta Arts Fair drinks booths exchanging coupons for soda and water.

Artist Relief/Hospitality – Help provide hospitality to the artists from booth sitting to assisting the upkeep of the artist’s hospitality room.

Young Artist Garden – Help the lead artist while children/teens work on their art activities, assist children with their projects if necessary, and take coupons for the activities. NOTE: Must be able to focus on arts activities during entire shift. Please wear appropriate clothing because art can be messy! Also, please DO NOT bring your own children unless there is a non-volunteer adult with paid admission accompanying you to attend to their needs. There are nine different activities; before children begin the activity, coupons need to be collected.

Volunteer Booth – Help assist with coordination of volunteers arriving for shifts, check-in, provide name tags, and if needed, guide them to assigned areas. Volunteers in this area will also manage the bike corral, providing tags for volunteers and patrons who ride their bike to the Fair.

Survey (18+) – During the afternoon shifts, volunteers will walk around the fair with an iPad setup with the Fiesta Arts Fair survey and encourage guests to submit their answers.

Floaters – You may be assigned to work in an area where people are still needed in one of the areas listed above. Also, be our ambassador to fair attendees, participants, and staff, and lend assistance where needed. Flexible and friendly!

Friday Set-Up – Help check-in and guide artists to their booth location, or assist the artists unloading their vehicles or setting up their displays. Heavy lifting may be required.

Sunday Tear Down – Work with the staff and volunteer crew that helps direct the artists at the conclusion of the Fair by ensuring that their booth area is broken-down and ready for them to pull in to load up. Can also assist the artist with taking down their display and carting items to their vehicle if able to carry heavy items. Shift will be from 5:00-7:00pm.
