Event Spaces

We offer a variety of options suited to many types of events, ranging from fairytale weddings and receptions, to corporate events and high-energy cocktail parties.  Rental options are available on both our historic site and our Santikos Campus, which enables us to meet the needs of those entertaining parties ranging from 12 to 500 guests.

Coates Chapel and Courtyard

Beautifully landscaped courtyards and a gothic chapel with soaring ceilings attract those seeking an authentic San Antonio experience reminiscent of the city’s early days. This dramatic setting, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, offers elegant, spacious interiors along with picturesque outdoor spaces.

Built in 1867, the versatile, L-shaped chapel has an ante-room that opens onto the gardens and an adjacent full catering kitchen. Relaxing space hidden under the eaves provides a tranquil bride’s room.

Coates Chapel Event Capacity

Can be configured for as few as 50 or as many as 300 guests

Rental Pricing & Additional Information

Includes the Convent and River Gardens, as well as River Walk barge access.

Monday – Thursday: $3,000
Friday or Sunday: $4,000
Saturday: $5,000

Special daytime rates are available Monday through Thursday for events held between 8am - 3pm.

All rental events at the Coates Chapel require the presence of a provided security officer, beginning 30 minutes prior to guests arriving and continuing for 30 minutes after final guest departure.  The cost for each provided security officer is $55 per hour.

Urschel Dining Hall

Limestone walls, high ceilings, burnished wooden tables, and contemporary artwork add a warm ambience to the intimate space of the Urschel Dining Hall. Formerly the original dining refectory of the old Ursuline Academy, this area provides a welcoming setting for small gatherings.

Monday – Friday (5pm -  1am) : $1,000
Saturday and Sunday (3pm - 1am) : $1,500

Russell Hill Rogers Lecture Hall and Courtyard

The contemporary space of the Russell Hill Rogers Lecture Hall is conducive to business meetings, screenings, small conferences, or receptions.  The lecture hall offers a state-of-the-art audio-visual system for films or presentations.  It is next door to the art school’s largest exhibition spaces, which are typically filled with works by some of the country’s best contemporary artists. The hall is well-equipped for a variety of seating or cocktail options and opens onto a shaded brick patio. 

Russell Hill Rogers Lecture Hall Event Capacity

Can be configured for up to 100 guests

Bolner Conference Room

This large, light-filled second-floor conference room is available for meetings and corporate retreats.  Built-in projection system bring the modern world into the historic ambiance of the old convent dormitory.
