Mobile Arts Program
For over 25 years, our Mobile Arts Program (MAP) has served the greater San Antonio area by taking art to the community. Supported by gifts from many generous donors, we make art education portable by "mobilizing" art teachers and sending them into area schools (grades K-8), shelters, community centers, libraries at a very reasonable cost.
MAP provides uses hands-on learning and demonstrations by practicing artists to deliver high-quality educational programming that complements classroom curriculums.
Each year, MAP participants learn color theory, composition, form and more, in media such as book arts, drawing and painting, clay, sculpture, weaving, design and architecture.

This program is designed for talented high school and middle school students with a strong interest in the visual arts. High school students who are accepted into the program meet twice a week after-school, during both the fall or spring semesters; middle school students meet once a week during either the fall or spring semesters. The program allows students the opportunity to develop their art-making skills through intense professional instruction, in a serious learning environment, and with a focus on providing foundational skills in drawing and painting. Thanks to the support of our generous donors, Teen Studio Intensive is a low cost program. However, space is limited and interested students must complete the application process to be considered for acceptance.
