Kids and Teens
Saturday Morning Discovery
A free, award-winning program for children ages 5 to 17. SMD has introduced generations of San Antonio families to the joys of making art.
Every Saturday for a month — the only requirement is that you have to pre-register your children before coming. This program provides children a chance to explore MANY different art forms — from ceramics, to stained glass, to painting and printmaking, to weaving, and to basic drawing.
Youth Art Studios
During Fall and Spring terms, we offer a small selection of tuition-based classes designed for youth and teens. Offered on Saturday afternoon, the class selection varies term to term. Email Registration for more information, or view our catalog online.
Teen Studio Intensive
A free visual arts program for talented teens during the school year, focused on developing painting, drawing and multi-media skills.
AKA Bee Nation, this group meets after school to work, converse, and experiment with art-making techniques and concepts. Call Regina Sanders (210-224-1848) for additional background and information.

Each class concentrates on a specific media or subject — check out our list of 120+ unusual, fun and focused classes! Class size is limited to 10 to ensure individual attention and learning. Summer Art Studios are geared for children ages 5 to 18.
Mobile Arts Program
For more than a decade, our Mobile Arts Program has connected artists with public schools, shelters, and community centers throughout all of San Antonio. These artists teach a wide variety of visual arts skills designed to complement classroom curriculum, including drawing and painting, clay, sculpture, book arts, weaving, design and architecture.
While most public schools have cut back in art education, these teachers carry the message of creative thinking to more than 4000 children in schools a year. To learn more, contact our Young Artist Programs Director, at 210.224.1848 ext. 331 for a complete program description.
