Southwest School of Art protects its students' right to file complaints and appeals according to its internal procedures and seeks to resolve all student concerns in a fair and timely manner.

Any complaint or appeal should describe in detail the issue of concern, must include relevant information for appropriate research, and indicate the desired outcome for the appeal or complaint.  The complaint or appeal must be signed by the student and sent from the student's email account.  All complaints or appeals must include the student's complete contact information, including full name and phone number. In addition to putting their concerns in writing, students should resolve their complaints or appeals by directly contacting the relevant office responsible.

For procedures on academic complaints, grade appeals, exceptions to academic policy, student support services, or appeals on student conduct/disciplinary actions please contact the Student Services Director in writing at or by phone at 210.200.8264.

For procedures on campus tickets, fines, or other public safety appeals, please contact Campus Public Safety in writing at or by phone at 210.240.0114.

For procedures on complaints about harassment, discrimination, sexual misconduct/assault, or retaliation, please contact the Title IX coordinator, in writing at, or by phone at 210.200.8229.

All student complaints must first be addressed internally. If the internal resources have been exhausted and the complaint is not satisfactorily resolved, then the student may file a complaint with the regulatory agency in the state where the student is receiving instruction and/or the institution’s accrediting agency. If the student is unable to resolve the issue directly, the student may submit a formal written complaint to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) using the procedures referenced at the THECB website.  The address for THECB is below:
